My Babysitter has Bronchial Pneumonia

She has been sick for over a week and went to the Dr on Monday and found out she has Bronchial Pneumonia. They put her on antibiotics. My daughter was in her care last week (we thought the sitter just had a bad cold/cough like I did the week before).

Anyway, Dr. put her on antibiotics, but how long should I keep Isabella away from her??

TIA

I would call the pediatrician and see what they suggest. I hope the baby doesn't get it.

Re: My Babysitter has Bronchial Pneumonia

My mom said that you're most contagious 3-4 days BEFORE you show any symptoms. Also my husband was just sick and went to the DR. and was given antibiotics and was told not to hold the baby for 48 hours after he began the antibiotics to give a chance for them to be fully in his system.

I'd call the doc and just make sure since phneumonia could be very serious.

Once you are on antibiotics for 48 hrs you are usually no longer contagious, although "Princess" was probably exposed to Karen when she was most contagious last week. If she didn't get it by now, chances are she is safe.Chat Icon She hasn't seen her for 5 days right?

Actually, she was there for 1/2 a day Monday morning - I had to go to work and so the sitter's hubby watched her in the a.m. so that the sitter didn't have to "touch her".
