My almost 6 year old just educated me about Martin Luther King, Jr.
Here's the convo I just had with Nicholas:
N: Mom...did you know Martha Luther King's birthday is next week?
Me: Yes I did. But his name is MARTIN Luther King, Jr.
N: That's what I said.
Me: 
N: Do you know who he was?
Me: Yes, but I'd like you to tell me.
N: OK...he was really famous.
Me: Why was he famous?
N: He was the leader of a band. And everybody loved them.
Me: Are you sure?
N: I think so. That's what CJ (classmate) told me.
Me: Ahh...that explains it!

I teach first grade and I make the kids practice saying his name because I ALWAYS hear "Marther Luther King" (or maybe it's Martha like your son said!  ). And the way they mix up facts about him is so amusing!!
