my 7 week old has a cold..?

he caught a cold from his brother and is now sneezing, snotty, and gagging /coughing from the phelm. no fever so far.

do i call the dr b/c he's so young? i know that there isn't anything we can do for him. i have a humidifier going and i'm using saline and what my 2 year old ds calls "the booger snatcher that makes you feel better."

if he starts a fever, temperature is cause for me to call the dr.?

and do i still have to keep my 2 boys apart if they're both sick?

any advice?

My dd cought a cold around the same age.. it was horrible.. i brought her to the ped and the only thing they said to do was exactly what you are doing.. the saline and boogy sucker, humidifier... and another thing was we let her sleep in her car seat b/c she was sitting upright and could breath easier.. they wouldn't give her medicine b/c she was to little.

If he developes a fever then bring him to the ped.

I think DS caught his first cold somewhere inbetween 6-8 wks and it was horrible. I felt so bad for him.

I used to bath him before bed with warm water to try to loosen up what was in his nose. I also made sure to use a cool mist humidifier in his room and put the vicks baby rub on him (I think I did at that age check with the dr. if you can but I dont see why not). I also would use the saline spray and suction him.
