The Polar Express is wonderful! It's also a book, with beautiful illustrations, if you are looking for books as well.

Re: Must have Christmas cartoons.. what are yours?
DH's mom got him Emmett Otter on DVD for Christmas last year. My personal favorites are Mickey's Christmas Carol and A Muppet Family Christmas where the Sesame Street and Muppet Show characters are all at Fozzie's Grandma's house. I had to buy that on VHS off of Ebay!

Re: Must have Christmas cartoons.. what are yours?
We have
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Polar Express
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Muppet Christmas Carol
Frosty the Snowman
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Christmas Without A Santa Claus
Also, from when I was little in the early 80's, we have 2 of my favorites that my mom saved for me on VHS.
The cartoon version of Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus
And a movie called The Christmas Toys. It aired on ABC in the early-mid 80's. It's about toys that come to life in a little girl's playroom every night after she goes to bed, and thay are afraid they will be forgotten about when she gets her new toys on Christmas. Such a cute movie, I was about 5 when it aired, I was obsessed! This and Virginia were my faves, I can't wait for my kids to be old enough to watch them!
