Re: Mums
Not sure where you live but near me there are a few farmstands and nurseries that have really nice mums. Borella's in Smithtown - they have two locations. There are a few nurseries up in Saint James that have great mums too.
The selection at Lowe's the last time I drove by was pretty pathetic.

Re: Mums
Honestly, the mums out east are so much nicer and so much cheaper than anything around here.
The farms out on the north fork have amazing mums for much cheaper than anything locally

this. I bought mums 3 for $12 on Sunday at Helens on route 105. They are so full and beautiful.

Re: Mums
My parents got nice ones at Kaufolds and Bloomin Haus. I got mine at a little place on Montauk Hwy in Center Moriches, don't even know the name but they are nice too.

It is true. As nice as the ones at my nursery near me were -- and I suggested them and you'd be fine with them -- when we drove out to pick pumpkins to Harbes, I drove by a bunch of places with gorgeous mums and they were so cheap.
It is far but really nice.
At least the drive is scenic!

I got the nicest mums I'd ever seen at a small family owned store in Queens. Perfect and gigantic, $5 each.
