Mucus relief

What can we take for mucus relief? Is that what Robitussin does? I'm not coughing but I just can't shake this cold! My nose is all red from blowing and I can't sleep at night in so stuffed up Chat Icon

Re: Mucus relief

Sudafed has pseudoephedrine in it so I'd be weary of it.

Call your doctor and ask but you can definitely use Mucinex (original one) and a saline spray

Yup it's the same. DM doesn't contain pseudoephedrine. D does.

Mucus relief

Also I used Claritin (original) to clear up stuffiness.

I also take elderberry syrup when I feel a cold coming on and it stops it in its tracks!

Thanks so much! I took some Mucinex now and will take another dose before bedtime. Also got some Saline spray and cough drops. Hopefully this will clear in the next day or so...

Would you consider elderberry syrup? It's a little pricey but man does it work!

Last Monday, I had a sore throat and was stuffy. Totally felt a cold coming on. I took half a dose of elderberry before bed and woke up feeling 100%! Then on Saturday, the stuffiness returned so I took another dose of elderberry. Next day and since - 100%!

Re: Mucus relief

do steam.
let your shower run hot (shut off bathroom fan if you have) and shut the door.
or you can do it over a pot of hot water or sink.
a few times a day it will help break up things and get the stuff out faster.
