Mucus Plug?
Just wondering when it comes out does that mean the baby is coming soon? Can you be dilated before you lose it? Is it a lot of mucus?

Not everyone will lose it, but from what I hear it can come out in pieces, or all at once and it def. Usually means that the baby is coming.

When I was pregnant with DS it came out over the course of a few days. Definitely can't miss it, luckily I always noticed it in the toilet bowl.
I walked around 3cm dilated for a few days, then noticed it falling out.
Went into labor maybe a day after the last of the plug fell out.
Of course everyone is different.

I lost mine at 30 weeks...I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow, no baby yet! It's different for everyone, but for me it was a giant clump. Some people say it comes out in pieces though.

I started losing it yesterday. It looks like pinkish discharge. I am now dilated 2cm 40% effaed and contracting semi-regularly as per todays impromptu visit. THi past Friday I had nothing going on. It may be your time soon...

Mine came out in pieces over the course of a few days. I had a doc appt the day after I started losing it and I was 1cm and 50% effaced. 2 days later I was 1cm and 80% effaced and that night I went to the hospital and delivered DS the next morning.

Mine came out in pieces over the course of a few days, about a week before I gave birth. I was not at all dilated or effaced until the day I actually went into labor.

Mine started coming out in pieces on Thanksgiving. DD was born on 11/30. No contractions before I went into labor.
