Mucus Plug?
I was just wondering, what does your mucus plug look like when you begin to lose it? Is it a slightly yellowish-brownish color?

ETA: i lost my plug over a period of 3 weeks before labor - that's how the globs were able to change day to day

Re: Mucus Plug?
Okay, I just heard back from my doctor. I'm having some brownish discharge today (very light) and wasn't sure if it's anything to worry about.
She thought it might be the mucus plug or my cervix thinning, though she did say the plug is usually a bit reddish. I'm seeing her tomorrow, and after asking if I'm having cramping, is the baby moving, she didn't think this was anything to worry about. I am supposed to call back immediately or go to an emergency room if I start getting cramps, bleeding, or if isn't moving.
So if it is my mucus plug, could I actually go a bit early? Perhaps, though I've heard it can still take awhile. I'm hoping DC will stay put a couple more weeks--I am not ready at all!

Re: Mucus Plug?
Oh well, so losing the plug really won't tell me much. could still come tomorrow, or he may stay put another few weeks. I'd rather he stayed in there a little longer, primarily for his well-being.
I'm not sure I'm losing it, I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I see my doctor.

Re: Mucus Plug?
I lost mine a few days after a painful internal and stripping of the membranes so it was bloody (dark red/brownish in color some areas silvery grey) It was thick and looked like a glob of raw egg whites. It also reminded me when you loose that thick bloody glob from your nose after a nose bleed. My water broke the next day.
