mucous plug??????
Just went to the bathroom and had a pad on. On it I noticed some snotty stuff with like a brown tinge to it (sorry TMI) so I wiped again and again before i even peed and kept getting this snotty mucousy discharge. I have never lost my plug before and do not think this really warrants a call to the Ob but what do I know. With this pregnancy I feel like I know nothing anymore!!

Re: mucous plug??????
According to the labor and delivery class I went to this week, sounds like it could be the MP......but we were told that it doesn't warrant a call to the OB. Water breaking? That's another story....call OB asap.

Re: mucous plug??????
Sounds like the MP to me. Not sure if it warrants a call to the OB. From what I just looked at online the loss of the MP does not mean labor is imminent.
I'd say if you start having contractions and/or break your water then definitely call the OB immediately!

Re: mucous plug??????
You can lose your mucus plug weeks before labor actually starts. I spent last night in L&D due to my high blood pressure and they told me that it wasn't a big deal to lose it. So I agree with PP not really sure it warrants an OB call.

Re: mucous plug??????
The brown tinged MP isn't too bad. If you were getting bright blood red, heavily bloody MP, I'd call and let them know, especially if it were accompanied by contractions.
When I lost some of my MP in the weeks before labor, it was always clear or greenish. The day I went into labor, I lost huge chunks with every contraction as soon as they were 10 minutes apart. It was like I couldn't wipe enough to dry myself, there was so much. 3 hours after that started with contractions continuing 8-10 min apart, I started to have the bloody show part of the MP. Then I was at the hospital when I lost the rest of it. It was crazy how much blood there was in there! Definitely NOT brown-tinged.
Good luck!!!! Sounds like stuff is happening, but then again the MP can regenerate so maybe don't get TOO excited...
