Moving Up Day

Friday is Bella's last day in her class before they close down next week to get ready for the new "school year".

She will be moving up to her new class with Miss Hope. I remember at this time last year I was devastated at the thought of Bella leaving her first caregiver and going into this new class. Now I am in the same place all over again. Her teachers Miss Donna and Miss Rosa have been her caregivers, amazing teachers, and showered Bella with hugs, kisses, and devotion for a year and they are equally sad. And I won't get to say goodbye because I have to work late this whole week Last year was a tear-filled goodbye with Bella's two teachers crying just as hard as I did....so maybe it's a good thing because Bella is so aware now.

Her new teacher is a young one (23) and I hope she keeps Miss Manipulative (yes my daughter )in her place...Bella needs discipline now more than ever as she is testing all sorts of limits right now.

I am sure it will be OK, I am sure I will be writing this AGAIN in a year's time and I should be grateful for all these amazing people who have come into Bella's life...but they are my eyes, ears, and hugs when I am not around and I know I get attached...good-byes are hard....

I feel the same way. Carlie is moving up in 2 weeks and I am having such a hard time with it. Good Luck

sounds like it would be very tough! You're right though to focus on the positive. it's great for her that she has so many terrific people in her life that they are hard to part with.

Thanks...anyone else going through this. Her primary teacher is off on Fridays and tomorrow is her last day with her I got all choked up when dropping her off this morning.

Oh god, I know exactly how you feel. Alex moved up in May and I had a sobbing party with her former teacher. And, her favorite assistant just left the school

Try to remember, this hurts you more than her - they are just so adaptable at this age, and the greatest benefit of daycare is their ability to bond with so many different people And, ever since Alex moved up to the toddler room, she's just thriving. I mean, where else is she going to learn yoga?

Awww! I know exactly how you feel, my DD will be moving up after next week, I am so sad about it. Even though she moved up once before, it was technically in the same room, now it's going to be so far away.

You are taking a very positive stance on it, I think that'll help both you and her to transition smoothly. good luck!
