Moving costs within county?
We're moving from a condo to a house about 20 mins away. We don't have a ton of furniture, but may need to hire a local moving co.
Can anyone share the moving costs for a move within the county (Suffolk)?

you always pay by the hour- normally it's about $120 an hour

ours was about $700,.....moved from an apt to our house. We used Appaulse movers

FM Kevin (a la cindyandkevin) - he hired a moving co to move his apt items to their house nearby. He got a good rate too.

Hey there, we used Men on the Move & we moved about a mile from our apartment to our house & it was $809. We had about 100 boxes though & a bedroom set & the baby's room set to move. It was by the hour & they had 3 guys....it took about 5 hours.

We paid a flat rate of $750., I think, for jsut furnace and no boxes. Our move was literally 2 minues away lol.
I will DEF rec our guys (can get you the name). They were nice, polite, they wrapped EVERYTHING going in AND going out... WE have HUGE heavy bedroom furniture and got it down the stairs and through corners.. they were awesome!!!
