Moving after baby???

Hi and congratulations everyone!
I'm a new poster but have been reading the boards for a while. Currently I'm 8 weeks pregnant and so excited, but anxious about moving!

We have an accepted offer on a house and about to go into contract only thing is they want to push off the closing date until September/October, meaning the baby will have just arrived. We currently live in a small one bedroom co-op in queens, no washer/dryer, no parking spots, very cramped. I was hoping to be in the house before the baby came so we could set up and have my parents stay from Florida.

So my question is have any of you ladies lived in a small place the first few months of your baby sweet life? I just don't see how it can be done. I'm scared if being cramped for a month is my reason for not snatching up out dream home, I (bad my DH) will regret it.

Any advice, stories would be so helpful!
Thanks!

For the first month your baby won't need much more than you. I'm not saying its easy but we made do in a very small space and didn't know any different so it worked just fine. If you're waiting on your dream house I'd say a month or so of annoyance is more than worth it!

Moving after baby???

My sister lives in a small apartment with her DH and 5 month old DD and so far it is fine although at times a little cramped. It is definitely doable especially when they are small.

We currently live in a small apartment - dd is almost 1. It is def doable but yes it gets cramped.
Do you have someplace to store things (shower gifts) until you move - that may be helpful as you end up with a ton of stuff that you don't need immediately.
Also, before signing the contract speak to your lawyers about the date - the people we purchased from wanted a nov 1 close date and we wanted march 1. We compromised on jan 15. They may be willing to compromise instead of risking not selling. Can't hurt to ask

Moving after baby???

Thank you ladies. My mind isn't racing as much! This is our first and I just want everything to be lined up perfectly! The rationale side of me knows that I just have to go with the flow and stress less but my personality is standing in the way! :)
I really appreciate the responses! Thank you so much!
