movers?
DH and I are moving and we have several heavy items and were thinking about using movers for these particular items. I'm concerned because i have heard that moving companies can be very shady and when then get to their destination, all of a sudden it's more money, or they drive away with your stuff...
Any recommendations?? Thoughts? Advice on what to be asking for?
TIA

Re: movers?
my parents used these guys this summer, they have lots of nice furniture and fragile items... they were really careful and very nice. They were extremely happy with them.

Re: movers?
We used Hall Lane for our last move. We had everything staged and ready to go. They finished about 2 hours early and it ended up costing us less than we were quoted.

Re: movers?
I'm planning to use Astro - 800-992-1015. I've known a few people who used them and were happy. They charge by the hour rather than by weight or distance, which in my case is best.

Re: movers?
I'd recommend Agile Moving (516-807-6431).
Family-run business. The owner--Michael--lives in Massapequa Park.
