mother/daughter day in NYC
I am looking for some ideas....I plan an outing every spring and fall for my Mom and I and I am looking for something new.
Things we have done in the past
-musicals/broadway
-Rockefeller City tour
-Serendipity/ Alice's Tea Room
-just shopped :)
-High Line walk around and eat
-mass at St. Pats and lunch
Just looking for a fresh idea. Mom is 71 but wears the crap out of me so any ideas are great!

I've always seen people on the lake in central park with the boat rides? Always looks so cute!

I took my mom in one year for a few days and played tourist.. it was so much fun.
We did (through Spirit Cruises) a lunch cruise around Manhattan (they have brunch on Sundays or dinner ones too). It was really nice and fun .. and relaxing!
Spent the day on Liberty Island and Ellis Island.
Took the hop on/hop off bus tour of Manhattan. This was nice as they have different routes and we planned where we wanted to stop and explore. Then when my Mom got tired, we could just sit on the bus and listen to the 'tour' and let her rest.

mother/daughter day in NYC
I love the Metropolitan Museum. Just went yesterday with my daughter. They have very nice dining options as well. On another visit DD and I had lunch in their cafeteria and then went to Alice's for scones and tea.

The hop on and hop off tour buses are a lot of fun. That could be something to do.

I just saw Kinky Boots with my mom and it was really awesome.
My mom also just did the hop on/off bus and loved that.
There are also some wine and cheese classes you can take.

These are some fantastic ideas ladies, thank you!!!!
Now that someone mentioned it, I do remember my Mom talking about wanting to spend a day at the Cloisters. That may be a good one for us!
and she loves tours, so maybe the hop on and off bus would be fun to do too.
