MOSQUITOS!
Awhile ago several posters mentioned they were getting bat houses installed on the chimneys to help control mosquito's in their yard. Just curious if you've noticed any difference?

I wish there were bats around to live in bat houses.
Are the bats back? I thought they were near extinction in the North East because of that white nose fungus?

I also have read that it sometimes takes years for bats to find a house.
Last summer we did see a few bats in our neighborhood.
the mosquitoes are horrible this year.

I put one up last summer. Nothing yet. But I heard it takes a while. Problem is white nose. It's some fungus basically killing off bats in America. To me that is all the more reason to add the bat box. Give them a home free from the fungus. It is spread through caves and there are all types of regulations for people exploring caves in national parks now to stop the spread of it.

I've seen a few in my neighborhood, but not nearly as much as I have in the past.
I want an army of bats....
