more carseat questions

So with the convertible seat...

How do you managed lugging DC in and out of the car AND all the stuff you have!

How do you keep them warm to and from the car?!

Is there a bundle me that fits the convertible car seat/metrolite stroller?

I miss my infant car seat and snap and go already Chat Icon !

I'm having a hard time adjusting!! Chat Icon

Re: more carseat questions

We always take DD's stroller wherever we go which makes lugging her gear easier, even if it is just from our apartment to the garage.

Her stroller has a bundle me and she's always wearing a jacket and hat.

I don't miss my car seat carrier because this gives me more snuggle time with DD. Most of the time, we use her stroller to carry all our stuff and I carry DD in my arms.

Re: more carseat questions

Usually I bring DS into the house first, then I lug in the stuff. He has to go in his crib or pack n play, which he hates, but he deals. If we have stuff to lug to the car, I try to bring that out first, or leave it on the porch, put him in the car, then go back to get the stuff.

He wears a coat, so that keeps him warm. No snuggle me.

It's tricky at first, and I missed the infant seat, so much faster to get him in and out of the car, and if he falls asleep, it's almost impossible to get him in the house still asleep. But, he seems happier with the convertible seat, much less whining when I'm driving.

Re: more carseat questions

When I lug stuff to daycare, I load the car first while DS hangs out in his exersaucer or plays with his sing-along-stage toy. (He's already in his coat, hat, etc.) Then I run back in and grab him, wrap him in a blanket and run with him into the car.

I pretty much stopped using the Metrolite stroller and switched to a Maclaren Quest. DS's daycare holds on to the Metrolite and I keep the Maclaren in my car. The Metrolite just got too heavy to lug around.

I took DS out to see the tree at Rockefeller Center last night and he was quite content in his winter coat, hat, mittens, and blanket wrapped around him like a burrito. He didn't cry or complain one of being cold!
