More car talk! Pilot vs. explorer
Ok, so with the redesign of the Honda Pilot, we are thinking of buying the old style for a great deal. This would make us need to buy like now, since new pilot is hitting dealerships in June.
We were hoping to buy something closer to November because we will be done paying off dh's car in October.
We also have the ability to do x-plan pricing for the explorer- which puts you around invoice price with no haggling. We could do this in our planned timeframe.
We are so torn. Any insight?

I would pick the Pilot over the Explorer.

Re: More car talk! Pilot vs. explorer
I have been researching new SUVs and the pilot was actually on the top of my list based on crash test reviews and user reviews. I currently have an '05 explorer which i love, but was going to opt for a honda instead. Unfortunately i found out the 2015 pilot does not offer the 2nd row bucket seats (the new 2016 does though). So if that is a feature you want, i would go for the explorer

More car talk! Pilot vs. explorer
While I love the look of the explorer I found it to have a lot of blind spots when driving.

DH just got a 2015 Pilot for the same reason. Before the new design comes out. We've never had an explorer but he loves his Pilot.

I'd always go with a Honda over a ford. Pilots are supposed to be excellent.

Re: More car talk! Pilot vs. explorer
I had a Pilot for 8 years. I never had any major issues with it. I just got tired of it after a while and wanted something new. I test drove the explorer and not only did I not like how it drove, but it was way smaller inside then I thought. The third row only seats 2 people, so if you go with captain seats, the max you can seat is 6 people. It didn't seem worth it to have an suv that size that only seats 6 people. I wound up getting the Enclave and I love it.
