Montreal and Quebec: for real!!!

First of all, I apologize for my countess posts on different destinations over the past few weeks. We have been trying to figure out where to go on our trip in October and just could't come to any consensus. I truly appreciated everyone's input.

Now--and this is final because we already bought plane tickets--we are going to Montreal and most likely talking a train to Quebec from there. Chat Icon

I would love to hear everyone's input on this plan: anyone gone to both cities in one trip? We are flying into Montreal on Saturday and want to take the train to Quebec Sunday afternoon, stay there MOnday for my birthday and head back Tuesday afternoon. We are leaving Montreal Wednesday afternoon for NY.

Also, can anyone recommend any places they visited in both cities that really struck their fancy? Restaurants? Bars? City Markets? Beautiful street with old buildings?

Thank you so much!!!Chat Icon

Here is a thread on Montreal. I've been to Quebec (taken the train from Montreal). It is an absolutely gorgeous little city!!! Make sure to visit Chateau Frontenac while you're there (can't miss it, lol!). You can visit the old fort there as well. Lots of little alleys and narrow quaint streets (a lot of them are uphill) with tiny, trendy restaurants. You can walk along the water. It's just beautiful. It is not as lively as Montreal as far as night life but for the beautiful old scenery and the old world charm it is so worth it to visit.

Sorry. I am not as computer savvy as some others here are, lol, and I couldn't get a link through.
