Monthly Visitor Question
I know I should probably be posting this over on the Health board, but it doesn't seem to get much traffic.
Anyway...I've always had normal cycles...28 days give or take a day or two. Well I'm on day 37 and no period. I have backaches and cramping. And even though I haven't taken a pregnancy test, my husband and I have not been intimate (at least not that I can remember ??). I'm 36 btw and had my 3rd son in January.
Any thoughts?

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
if you're that regular, i would pee on a stick and call my dr.
it could be a million reasons why you're late.
just this spring/summer, my cousin was super late. we were joking about baby #4 on the way. ended up being stress... she was knee-deep in prepping for her daughter's quinceanera, dealing with a nasty neighbor who took her to court over a barking dog, contemplating selling her house, dealing with a child in her classroom who was being hurt by her uncle... there was a lot on her plate.
i share that to say that it could be anything that throws you off... but it's best to talk to your dr.

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
I would pee on a stick, and try to relax. Then call your ob for an appointment. Mine was late like that when I was under an inordinate amount of stress. My grandma was near deaths door and I had to travel to see her which took hours for a few days in a row so my parents could go away. It was very traumatic. I was three weeks late.

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
I agree with the PPs on this one. 1st take a test and if it's negative, I wouldn't stress it right away. So many people "have always been regular" until they werren't one month.

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
If you haven't had sex it's safe to say you are not pregnant. Unless it was an immaculate conception. I have months like that. I chalk it up to stress, hormonal imbalance, peri menopause etc

This.
I would take a test anyway, in case maybe you just miscalculated the last time you were intimate. Then I'd probably ride it out another month and call your gyno if AF still hasn't come.

Monthly Visitor Question
I was 36 when my period first got a little weird after being totally regular since age 13. First it was a full week early - then skipped a month. Dr was not concerned. I think around that age it’s fairly normal to have some new strange things happen.

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
After you rule out pregnancy call your OB or regular DR.
Could be anything, stress, hormones, cyst, etc... I'm in my l40's and when that happened to me blood work indicated peri menopause.

Monthly Visitor Question
Well I'm in the process of driving back to NY from Virginia. Stopped at a rest stop to use the facilities and bam! there she was.
Thanks for talking me off a cliff! Probably was just stress.

Re: Monthly Visitor Question
Your body changes as you get older. It reacts more to stress and your period gets wonky. I'm 52 and starting menopause. Last monthly was in March, but I've had some very minor streaking and twice full on PMS symptoms and then nothing.

yes it happened to me, maybe I was a few years older but gyno checked hormones and some reserve hormone level that has to be checked at a specific day after you start your period (can't really remember specifics) but it told her my reserves or eggs are depleting, so the period can get very wonky.
