Moms who work from home... Stuck inside!

I work part time from home... Although sometimes I feel like I work longer than full time employees. Chat Icon

Anyway, my 3.5 yr old goes to preschool everyday so at least in this cold weather he gets out. My 18 month old doesn't get out much in this weather. I take him to a library class once a week and once in a while we go shopping. Since I work from home I can't go out a ton or with this weather I don't take him out for walks or anything.

Am I the only one who feels stuck at home. I don't mind now bc it's cold. My 18 month old seems happy, but I just feel guilty I'm not getting him out more. I know when it's nicer out and I'm not so busy we'll go out more. Also, everyone being sick I prefer to stay in too. Chat Icon

I'm with you! I work from home about 30 hours a week. I used to take DS out for 2 hours in between naps. Now, it is so cold and I just got him the flu shot so I worry that he will get sick! I set up the basement as a separate play area then what he is used to upstairs. I brought in (and cleaned) his outdoor playhouse and little tykes car to ride around the basement. I feel sorry for him since he loves to be outside but I know its only another few weeks. I saw 50s in the forecast next week THANK GOD!

Sounds just like me. Good. I'm not the only one. I mean he's perfectly happy playing, but I feel like he's gotta be getting bored. Excited for it to warm up so we can go outside again. Just for some fresh air and I need to walk again. Lol

Yes, I tend to stay in during the winter for the reasons you mention. My 4yo twins are in preschool 3x a week for 2.5 hrs, and my 22 mo has a mommy and me class once a week. I've stopped running errands with all three because they are at ages where it is just too difficult. So, we usually stay home. They don't seem to mind. I feel most guilty when I have a deadline looming and they watch a lot of tv though.
When the weather gets warmer we get out a lot more.
