moms who switched formulas
DD is 5 wks. she started on similac advance and was spitting up and was VERY gassy so the ped swited her to siimilac sensitive. the spitting up stopped but gass continued. Now the ped has her on similac isomil and DD hates it. She cries thru the entire feeding which she never did before. Could it be that she just isnt doing well with similac products? I have a sample of good start not sure if i should haver her try it.
Anyone have a similar experience?

Honestly I think that is an awful lot of switching in 5 weeks. I mean the poor kids tummy hasn't had a long enough chance to adjust.

 Figuring out formulas can be so stressful.. We went from Similac Advanced to ENfamil Gentlease to Similac Alimentum. What does your ped say? You don't want to change formula too often but do want to figure out whats best. Have you tried pumping your DD's legs, doing bicycle kicks and rubbing her tummy? That might help with gas. Give the formula about a week if you can, but if she really hates it I would ask the ped to recommend a new formula.

The ped told me to add 1 tsp of camomille tea to each bottle started doing that yesturday. I have been pumping her legs, it helps get the gas out. I pump breastmilk but only get 2 oz total. DD takes 4 oz at a time. But now with the isomil shes taking only 2oz and most of it she spits out.

We started with Enfamil Premium, switched to Enfamil Gentlease because he was very gassy. Then the dr switched us to Nutramigen because of a milk protein/soy allergy. Then we were switched to Similac Alumentin. He had a severe reaction to that. Now he is on Elecare. It is an amino acif formula. He has a severe milk protein/soy allergy. He had loads of blood in his stool. So far so good on the Elecare. The poor kid will be 2 months old tomorrow.

I just switched my second DS to Isomil today - my other one has been on it for two weeks, it took a week for it to start working. My pediatrician told me some babies don't like the taste of the Isomil at first and to mix 50/50 Isomil and whatever formula he was on before for the first bottle or two, then 75/25, then 100% Isomil so they have a chance to acclimate to the taste. Luckily both mine took it fine but maybe you could try this?
