Moms who send lunch into school/daycare
I'm sending my dd to a new school and they eat lunch there. What kind of meals do you send in and if you send hot stuff in what type of thermos do you use to keep it warm?

Does the daycare have a microwave? The daycare my boys went to did so it didn't matter what I sent it in.

I've never sent in anything that needed to be hot or anything that needed refrigeration. DS' typical lunch is a nutri-grain bar, Gerber yogurt and a few crackers. Sometimes I switch out the yogurt for an applesauce cup. He's a very picky eater and still hasn't gotten into sandwiches, so there aren't many options for us!

I use the thermos funtainer..I have sent in pizza bagels, cut up left over pizza, bagel that I make in the toaster over, chicken fries, Mac and cheese. It stays hot for about 4 hours

They don't have a microwave at school. Her school is 11:30 to 3:30 and lunch will be at 12:30 so I'd need a good thermos to keep stuff warm for a little over an hour.

She posts her children's lunch everyday...and it is all healthy, real food! I have grown to LOVE this blog...she has a FB page too.

My DS gets sent to school with a basic rotation of peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches, rice cake with either turkey pepperoni, salami, or turkey, either an organic juice box or organic chocolate milk, always a fresh fruit, and always a little something for dessert- bag of cookies, pretzels, pirate booty, baked chips, granola bar, cereal bar.
