For how long and how often did you breast feed your LO at around 1 month old?

DD is 3.5 weeks old and takes about an hour or more per feeding and even then sometimes it seems she needs more.

I also end up pumping sometimes after a feed bc my breasts still feel full.

ETA: I give "relief" bottles of expressed milk at night and sometimes during the day as I sometimes leave my LO with my mom while I take my toddler out. Could this be effecting how quickly my LO eats when I do breastfeed? I also pump most of the time that I give a relief bottle. My supply was great but has slowed down a bit since I have been skipping nighttime pumping. I still have more than I need but it has slowed down the last few days.

About 45 min every 3-5 hrs. Then a switch happened felt like overnight at around 4 months where she would nurse for 10 min ever 3-5 hrs. This is still where we are at 7 months. I also had oversupply. Built up a great stash and stopped pumping at around the 4 month mark. Took a few days but my supply worked itself out.

At that age she was still feeding what seemed like constantly. Definitely over an hour for feedings. Some babies take 10 minutes, some take forever. I would try to only pump if you're very uncomfortable so you don't set yourself up for an oversupply which can lead to clogged ducts/mastitis.

As long and as often as LO wants. I know it feels like that is all you do in the beginning, but it's good to establish your supply. Around 1 month, my DS was BFing ever 1.5-2 hours. But he was a fast eater, maybe 15 mins max. My DD was a slow eater, she would take 30 minutes per side sometimes, but then would eat every 2.5-3 hours. As long as you're following your DDs cues, and she's having wet & dirty diapers, you're doing it right.

I never pumped that early, and hate pumping so I can't offer any advice there.

Stay hydrated, keep snacks handy, and get comfy! Before you know it, your LO will be eating faster & going longer stretches!

Feedings lasted anywhere from 30-60 minutes at that age. I was feeding on demand and that meant feeding anywhere from 45 min to 2.5 hours between feedings. She rarely went longer than that.
I didn't want to do the every 2 hour rule bc I never knew when she was actually nursing or if she was comfort sucking.

I have a four week old. He nurses for 25-35 minutes total. Usually 15 minutes on each side. He nurses every 2.5-3.5 hours (start to start). I nurse on demand. I pump occasionally so DH or visitors can give him a bottle - maybe once a day.

In the beginning DS was slow at nursing so the nurse said to strip him down and make sure he was engaged in nursing. Now for the most part, he is all business; actively nursing the whole time.

At that age he was feeding 45minutes to 1 hour every 2 hours (sometimes just constantly I would finish an hour session and 30 minutes later be back at it. He went to 3 hours between feeding around 9 months and became more efficient around 6 months (would take about 15 -20 minutes to eat)

I believe 30 min every two-three hours. I gave a paci after feedings to suck on.
