Moms of toddlers, how many tantrums does your DC have daily?
I know it is somewhat normal for toddlers to have tantrums but it feels like it is getting worse with 17m DS. Right now he probably has about 2 full fledged kicking, back arching tantrums per day and about 2 mini fits a day. DS gets most upset when we take away something that he is holding whether it be another child's toy (when a kid leaves the playground and needs their toy back) or an object that we feel is dangerous.
Just curious how often other kids DC's age have tantrums.

Yup.. I'm there with you. DS is 15 months and started this new thing of stiffening his body or waiving his arms and whining when he's angry. Usually when we take something away from him or say "No" a few times to him when he's doing something wrong that could hurt him or he can break something.
At first he smiles then after a few more times I do the stern NO and take it away he gets angry. If I give him the 1 min time out I always hug and kiss him after to tell him that I love him and this is how we should express ourselves... yada yada
He doesn't seem to care and wants to go away from me. 
I'd say he does it a few times a day. Depending. More if he's tired

I stopped counting a long time ago...
DD throws too many to keep count of. (she's almsot 19 months)

I don't even count either! She's just a diva like that. Maybe I'm romanticizing the past, but I feel like my older DS hardly did this at all compared to her!

With DD#1 we had a lot. When she wanted out of the stroller, didn't want to hold our hand, didn't want to nap.
DD#2 on the other hand is pretty good. I don't really have that many - the only resistance we get with her is that she is rather clingy - and will cry when she wants to be held and you put her down. Otherwise the only tantrums we get are when she wants something and she doesn't have the word for it - and her pointing isn't enough for DH sometimes. She has a pretty good vocabulary so this mostly happens at meals when I'm not around. Maybe 3 total a week - she is 15 months.

DS is 2.5, I really don't know--I think I notice the days when he has NO tantrums (or only a couple small mini meltdowns) far more at this point.
