Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
What do you do with their hair every day? We are letting the front of DD's hair grow out and right now it's about down to her nose. I clip it back or put it in a high pony but what should I do for daycare? Is a clip okay? Will they put her hair up again if it comes out? I know probably silly questions but i'm trying to think of everything for her first day one week from today.

I put pigtails in her hair in the morning...if they fall out or get really loose the teachers there re-do them (except the one day she came home with one piggy out and crazy hair b/c she wouldn't let anyone there fix it )

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
My DD has waistlength curly hair and I would always put tie all of her back.. whether it was braids, pony tails, 1 pony tail, etc. I would never leave it down.. it was just too much hair and I felt it was my responsibilty to keep it together and not the poor teacher

I usually do it in a high pony...if it falls out they do it over...I also have some of those tiny rubber band hair ties there in her bag if hers gets lost...they also have some there too usually(brand new)-she has come home with those on before i started leaving some for her.

I use pigtails
I also got her bangs because it was becoming an issue.
Most of the time they will redo them if they fall loose but AJ was having a fit with the hair in her eyes. This was before the rest of her hair was long enough for solid ponytails. Clips were discourage when she was smaller because they didn't want other kids to chew or choke on them. So bangs she go.

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
I do either a high pony or pig tails.
I do that because I think the little rubberbands won't come out as much as a clip would. She's always come home with her hair the same way I dropped off, but sometimes I can tell that they must have fixed it during the day if maybe they came loose at school.
ETA: It's funny because one of the teachers in DD room will actually braid the hair of one of the little girls in the class.... like fancy, corn-row kind of braiding. I'm always amazed that they can do that to a 1 year old child! My DD barely lets me do 1 pony on top of her head!

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
When my girls were younger, day care always fixed their hair - probably better than I did it on most days. Could possibly be because some of them were beauticians on the side. LOL
The older teachers never fixed it. I used to cringe when I picked them up and they were in mismatched clothes - because of accidents or spilling something on themselves.

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
At my previous day care I would put it in ponytails or pigtails with plain hair rubberbands. I rarely ever put clips in her hair because she had a tendency to pull them out and the day care didn't make any effort to put the clips back in her hair OR in her bag for me to take home again...
When she pulled her ponytails out they would put them back in.
In her current day care it seems like whatever is lost eventually winds up back in her cubby so I don't mind putting clips or a headband in her hair now.

My DD likes her hair in her face, so I only do something on those days that she asks for a ponytail.

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
Ann's hair is almost always down (she hardly lets me do it) and when this one teacher was in her room, she'd always come home with ponies!!
Usually when I send her with ponies, she comes home without them!
I do find clips usually don't make their way back home.

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
pigtails pony tails half up/half down
very rarely all down unless she fights me a lot and i cant handle the fight that morning since she has no bangs.
i use the ouchless rubber bands...no clips since she takes them out and i would feel awful if one of the babies got their hands on them and put them in their mouth!

Re: Moms of girls, kinda silly daycare question...
My DD wont keep anything in her hair so unfortunatly we're stuck keeping the bangs for now.
With my older DD i used to do the pony tail with the clips and the teachers would usually fix it if it came out and they noticed.
