moms of boys - rash?

i noticed a small red spot (half of a dime) sized on DS' penis Chat Icon and I think its a rash - I was using Pampers Swaddlers that I believe had Dry Max and now im kinda Chat Icon

Is that a strange place for a rash? His tush is normal. The rash is a little raised. Im also noticing the head of his penis kinda gets sucked in (not actually sucked into itself but into the skin above) Chat Icon is that normal?

will aquiphor help? or can I use triple paste there?

Chat Icon they should give mom's handbooks on boy parts Chat Icon

If it's there, it's like a yeast infection. Colin just had a little one - almost looked like heat rash, but I took him to the ped last week and she said it's almost always a yeast infection.
I use nystatin on it.
I was also told, in a pinch, if you suspect yeast, you can mix a tube of neosporin and gynolotromin and use that on it.

The top of his penis getting sucked in is pretty normal...every time you change his diaper push the head out!!..DS doesnt have that but we were talking about this at the arboretum a couple of weeks ago and most of the girsl have the same problem with there DS's. It was funny we were all comparing penis's! As for the rash...i would try triple paste and see if it goes away. It could be from the heat.

Re: moms of boys - rash?

Its probably diaper rash, you can put any zinc oxide product, I'd also put some creamy vaseline or lanolin stuff to cushion it a little for comfort.

We got it once, when DS has diahrhea over night, eww..

I'm also boycotting pampers, esp regarding dry max, never had an incident but I'm appalled the company is ignoring people that the diapers cause rash.
