Moms of 9 month olds........or anyone who has had a 9 month old!! Okay.......all Mommies!!
Do you brush their gums before bed or at any other time in the day? My DD has no teeth at all yet at almost 9 months and occasionally I do swipe her gums with a damp cloth but should I make sure to do that every day even though she has no teeth yet? TIA!

my Dr never mentioned it, so I never have. She is just getting teeth now at 10 months so I am going to ask at her 12m check up

i actually started after dinner last week... he is 8 1/2 months with no teeth... he seams to like it... more like a comfort measure... but i wanted him to get used to it prior to teeth actually coming in... if they ever come in.....

I have been wiping my son's gums since he was born My dr never mentioned it to me but my mom is the one that suggested (she did it) just to get all the formula ickyness out of his mouth & he loves it. (now I brush because he has 8 teeth) I do this twice a day

Ive been wiping DD's gums and tongue from the time she was born..my mom told me to do it. Now she has teeth (got one at 9 months) i wipe her gums teeth mouth twice a day

DS has two on the bottom and he cut his front tooth and his lower incisor (sp?) last week. I haven't done it yet but I actually just asked this question to DH the other day. We figured it wouldn't hurt so we are gonna start this week, I think. He has his 9 month appointment on Tuesday so I'm gonna ask.

my dentist said we should start wiping daily once the first tooth is out. we're only starting now... he has 2 teeth.

I actually just started today. I bought a finger toothbrush thing and at first he didn't like it, but then he tasted the toothpaste and didn't mind.

I brushed my kids teeth at that age, but they had a mouth full of teeth by 9 months. Before they cut teeth at 3 months I maybe did it a few times a week when I would remember to.
