Moms of 9-10 months olds...

My 9 month DD is sooo active she just won't stay still for ONE MINUTE. She is constantly on the go...so wants to crawl everywhere. I also have 2 1/2 old so I am so exhausted. If I try to sit on the couch she won't even stay still on my lap. She just wants to go free. And she has to see one of us or she will just freak out and start screaming. She constantly craves attention. I can't do anything with her around. She tires me more than the 2 1/2 yr old. And forget changing her diaper..I have to wrestle with her to keep still.

Anyone else's DC like this?

I don't remember DD1 being like this.. I would just put her down in the playpen or somewhere and she would play for a bit but not this one!!!

Lol I feel like I was reading about myself, minus the 2.5yo. It's exhausting, but when I need a break, I wear him. Forget about diaper changes. I'm running out of things to bribe him with. Lol

My 8 month old DS is like this. I have an almost 3 year old as well and he was the same way when he was that age (but, it was different then because it was just him LOL!)

My kids are the same ages.

DS is really the issue at 2.5. He's really attention hungry. DD crawls and moves. I keep boxes of things and dump a few at a time in front of her. We have baby gates up, have baby proofed and just let her roam.

I give her a toy for diaper changing. The key thing is having new stuff. Even spoons and tupperware works.

Yup....same here! And she is standing on everything! I call her the "tiny terrorist" becuase wherever she goes, she causes choas and mayhem! LOL....I have a 3.5 yr old also so I hear ya about the not being able to sit down!

ETA: She likes to chew on a diaper while we change her..not the greatest, but it works! Definitely have to give her something to play with while changing her! And getting dressed is a disaster...she is constantly trying to escape!

Yes. My 10month old has been like this since he learned to crawl!

At first I childproofed one room in the house and closed it off with a safety gate. Then I let him roam in there, it's also the same room I have my computer set up.
I have his playpen in the Den so that he can play while I watch TV.
I put him in his high chair when I'm in the kitchen and most times he's content just watching me.
I have a bouncer in my room so he can play/watch TV while I get ready in the morning or to just sneak away for a quick shower.

I've been inviting family over so they can keep him entertained.

I don't know what I'm going to do once he starts walking!

ETA: For diaper changes, I have to give him a toy or my cell phone just to keep him entertained for 2min. Otherwise, he's squirming and practically diving for the floor.

I could have written this your post word for word. DD crawls EVERYWHERE. The house usually looks like a tornado ripped through it. She is only content when she's found something she shouldn't be playing with like dog food or my laptop charger cable.

And diaper changes are my least favorite time of the day! She is so strong I worry I'm hurting her when I try to hold her in place!! That's usually when I pull out something I usually won't let her play with like the baby monitor and change her as fast as I possibly can.

It is not easy but I'm glad to see it's pretty normal.

Sound exactly like ds. He is constantly on the go, explores everything. Its so hard keeping up with him. And he is so loud from excitement. He screams all day long. Its so hard to go out to eat because of the screaming he does and constantly wanting to crawl around. This too shall pass is what i kewp telling myself.

Luckily changing his diaper isnt torture. I sing him a diaper time song I made up, and he stays so still listening to it.
