Do you feel like you're slacking this time around?

I feel like with my first I was constantly doing research & debating room themes etc for hours. This time I'm all "Eh - it will get done" but I'm 28w & haven't done anything yet! Room theme? Uh - I don't know...Clothes & bottles, etc? I guess I'll go through them eventually...I feel like I need a good kick in the ass Chat Icon

Haha, yes! I think for me it's all still so surreal. I mean, I'm planning for baby #2, made a registry list of things I need and have started buying some basic clothing (opposite sex this time) and small essentials.

But at 26 weeks, I'm way further behind with stuff than I was with my first!

I did go through ALL of DS' clothes to determine what I could possibly keep for baby #2 and what I can pass along. That was a big 2 day project so it makes me happy to have done that.

But I'm planning DS' 2nd birthday party right now and work FT, so I'm just exhausted to do much of anything else. But having BTDT, I know that so long as baby has a place to sleep and some diapers and clothes to wear, she'll be fine Chat Icon

Absolutely! We are Team Chat Icon this time so there is only so much I can do. I already have bedding and decor ideas picked out depending on the sex of the baby but obviously we'll have to wait and see. We are in the process of getting DDs 'big girl room' ready but are definitely a little behind on that as well (I'm almost 28 wks). But I take comfort in the fact that this baby will have all the necessary items (a place to sleep, diapers, food, etc.) when they come home. Everything else will get done when it gets done Chat Icon

ETA: I do expect to have my hospital bag ready in the next week or 2 though if that counts for anything Chat Icon. DD was a preemie and I had NOTHING with me when I went to the hospital. I refuse to go through that again.

I haven't done anything...other than DH painting the room. This DD is getting DD1's bedding and stuff like that. I have to pull everything out and organize. I'm 32 weeks. Chat Icon

I haven't done much either. I got a new Jumperoo on Black Friday because it was 50% off and DS broke his.

Otherwise I've done nothing. Oh wait, I picked up some onesies a few weeks ago

We haven't set up the nursery, we figure we're waiting on that since the baby will stay with us and we're giving up our guest room to do so - and we're going to have guests when the baby is born to help with DS...

We don't have names, we've barely discussed it.

I need to get new bottles since DS still uses his once a day and we lost so many of them - I want to change up brands...

I have this feeling, due to lack of preparedness, that this baby will come early. I was so prepared with DS - and everyone told me he'd be early - that he was late (and I was induced).

ETA - I'm almost 32 weeks.

I'm too tired and naseous to think lol. I'm only 9 weeks, I don't feel like slacking new baby.. Feel like I'm slacking at being a mom for my two DDs. I feel so sick and tired all I want to do is lay on couch.

Re: Moms of 2+

24 weeks today (Chat Icon ) and haven't even thought about doing anything. DC#2 will be in our room until DD is comfortable in a toddler bed (they will be sharing a room) so I'm not concerned with decorating etc. We're team Chat Icon so I'm not buying any clothes minus a few plain onesies. New bottles, nipples, NB diapers etc can all be done in one trip to BBB. I'm really not too concerned. It does make me feel a bit guilty (like any mommy needs MORE guilt) but I figure this little one is very lucky that I'm much more experienced and less nuerotic this time around! Chat Icon

Oy names is another thing entirely! My dh is being difficult so I've given up...at this point I think we're going to be forced to pick one on the fly at the hospital so that we'll be allowed to go home! Chat Icon

Well I'm glad I'm not alone here Chat Icon I think the whole "I'm less nervous this time around" thing is playing a big part of it since, like you guys, I know that the diapers, a bassinet & some clothes are all I really need to start off with in the beginning.

Re: Moms of 2+

Im not as prepared as i was last time around. I have done some stuff made a registry of items we need, purchased some clothes. I am really just way to exhausted from chasing dd around to do anything though. The girls will be sharing a room so I don't have to do anything with that. Most days I forget I'm pregnant until I feel the baby moving. I want to go through all of dd newborn clothes but I guess I'll do that as the time gets closer.

Re: Moms of 2+

Omg I so slacked this time around, I worked 40 hour week schedule with this one and now I was told to stop by ob because it's too dangerous and now I stopped working this weekend I finally finished my hospital bag, dd bag.

I was on my game with dd #1 because she was my first and I had time. Now I don't.

Re: Moms of 2+

22 weeks this friday and nothing! no room ideas, no clothing or toys organized, no furniture picked out and dont even ask me about names, I just am not any where near as motivated this time. with DD i had my preggo book and baby bargains book at work every day, highlighting and taking notes. I am either trying to stay awake at work or reading US magazine on my down time this time around Chat Icon
