Mommy's who host GTG's at their house- a question
What do you serve for lunch - to both kids and adults?
Thanks! :)

I rarely do lunch GTGs but, you can do a cold cut platter and have assorted rolls, condiments..have mom's make sandwiches. Maybe a salad.
For the kids, Chicken nuggets & Fries are always a hit.

I always have lunch playdates and rarely serve lunch. I usually put out a veggie platter, chips and dip, cheese and crackers and fruit. I have served pizza but it gets expensive if you have a bunch of people coming over and you do it often. I am also a big fan of bagels with salads and cream cheese.

With one group of friends we have it fairly early so we get bagels, cream cheese, tuna, etc.
If the playdate is around lunch I will order pizza.

I have tons of playdates here. Sometimes we get pizza or bagels. Sometimes just fruit and snacks. My friends are also awesome about bringing stuff over.

We usually do deli (our kids are pretty much 3 and older though). I have done "make your own pizzas", the kids got a kick out of that! If it isn't lunch time, we will do snacks (pretzels, fruit, chips, goldfish, etc)

We really keep it low key, someone has made quiche before, or a veggie platter, or a fruit platter, croissants...
Simple stuff, its usually in the morning though

When we get together with our library class mommies, it's in the morning so we do coffee, bagels and fruit for us and the babies.

Re: Mommy's who host GTG's at their house- a question
I've only had playdates w/my closest friends and we usually order a pizza for the kids, if we're starving. Otherwise each Mommy brings a snack and we all share. I guess as DD gets older we will branch out more and I will have to be more formal. I would think ordering a pizza is the easiest option.

Re: Mommy's who host GTG's at their house- a question
thanks. I have an IG pool and I have been hosting a ton (3 days this week alone) and I am just trying to figure out what to do each day. I've been doing hamburgers, hot dogs, nuggets, grilled cheese, salads for the moms (green salad, bean salad, cucumber salad, hummus,) Everyone's been great with bringing stuff but I think I have to simplify a little. I'm cooking waaay too much
Bagels for lunch sounds good

Wow! If you're hosting that many, I'd def. just have everyone bring something!!!! Or just have everyone chip in a few dollars for pizza--I know I'd be more than happy to do that for anyone who is hosting!

Re: Mommy's who host GTG's at their house- a question
luckily, people are generous and they bring juice boxes, snacks, etc ... some (like my cousin) will bring salad fixings .. but the time spent preparing is getting to me I always want to serve 'healthy' but I think I may have to go the way of 'easy' once in a while.

Re: Mommy's who host GTG's at their house- a question
Cold cuts and bagels and wraps are always a good bet for the adults. And frozen stuff (chicken nuggets, pizza, fries, corndogs) are always good for the kiddies.
