Mommys preggo with #2 or more...
Did you bring your other DC to your first sono???
Part of me wants DC #1 there, I think it would be fun and cool for them, and I think if GOD FORBID something were to go wrong, it would be a nice support.
The other part says it may not be the right place for them...
My child is NOT a baby/toddler.

i didn't bring my children ... but many people do.. i think as long as Dh is there to help you then it'll be fine.. keep in mind that you will be undressed from the waist down which wouldn't matter to me.. but it would to some.

my dd has been to every appointment soo far. To be honest i only take her if dh is going to be there.. theres no way i would be able to handle her alone. Im not sure if im taking her tho to my 20 week sono.. havent officially decided yet. She gets squirmie and doesnt want to sit still.. i feel bad for dh b/c hes wrestling with her and his attention isnt 100% on the new baby.. so for that reason we may leave her with B'par this time.
eta: my dd just turned 1.

DD was at the first sono with my husband- but she was only 8 months old. I don't see a problem with older children. ALTHOUGH- remember the first is usually an internal.

My son has come to 3 of my sonograms....When I was first pg, the Ultrascreen and the growth sono I had at 29 weeks. For me, it is important he be involved and know that he is getting a little sister. And its cute because he tells the dr or tech to show him certian things and he gets so excited saying thats my sister!

My DD came to my first appointment and the internal freaked her out. I didn't have a sitter so I was stuck. But she was really scared by it all.
She did come with DH and me to the Level II and was a bit better but she still kept asking if Mommy was getting owies

DD has been to every appointment except the 20 week and 32 week sono appointments. DH is always at every appointment so he keeps her occupied.

My DS has been to just about all my sono's except for the level 2- I really wanted my DH to be able to absorb everything they said at that one and my DS can be a wiggle worm sometimes  - But its so cute because everytime I tell him we are going to the DR. he asks me if we are
"going to see the babys hard feet " (heartbeat-LOL)

I am now pg with #3. When I was pg with my 2nd, I brought my son, who was then 5, to the last sono (I think when I was like 8 months?). I figured that by then there would be very little chance of getting bad news then, and it would give him a chance to see the baby . We will probably do the same for this one.

I have a toddler who doesn't sit still for long so no---she hasn't come to any sono's and won't be coming. I don't think she would understand too well anyway.

I think you have to go with your heart on this one. We brought DS because we wanted him to be a part of everything. He is 15 mos. DH goes with me to all of the sono's so if something were to happen, God forbid, I know he would leave the room with DS.

i bring my son with me to every sono i have..he is going to be 10 in october though...i do however ask the tech before he looks, everything look ok? (she always looks first before showing us anything anyway as to get her actual job done)

I didnt bring my children to my first one.. I have to say I was relieved that I didnt since the doctor gave me some disturbing news and then once I found out all was ok I let them both come to the next one.My son whos 4 loved it he has kept a sono pic just for himself..My DD whos almost 2 didnt understand so she doesnt come anymore but he still does.

i had my first sono at my first appt- 7w1d. I went to that one alone. DH and kids came to the 12 week sono and will go to all of them going foward.

I think DD came but she didn't come to our big one. It really would have been too much of a hassle for her to be still that long.
I'm selfish and don't bring her to any of my appointments. I go when she's in school. I consider it "me" time.

DD came to my first sono at 11 weeks. She got such kick out of seeing the baby on the screen. She was actually sitting right next to the tech (who was fortunately wonderful) & the tech was pointing out all of the little parts to her.
