Mommies what would you do

I came home from work today sick. I left early which I never ever do. It seems my wonderful husband has given me the stomach bug he had last week. (Great the 2 days I slept on the couch didn't help for squat) I am constantly in and out of the bathroom. Vomiting and other reasons. Chat Icon

I have my Mom picking my daughter up at daycare and she is going to take her back to her house for awhile. But if I keep this up there is no way I can take care of her alone tonight, while hubby is at work. My Mom suggested that she stay at her place. I know that she will be fine there but she has never slept away from home or been away from us for more than 5 hours.

Would you let her stay over night at grandma's? or would you take care of her the best you can inbetween trips to the bathroom?

Re: Mommies what would you do

I would definitely let your mother watch her. It's not like she's staying with somebody you don't trust. It would be extremely difficult for you to take care of her while you're constantly in the bathroom and you also don't want to run the risk of making her sick too. It'll give you a chance to get the rest you need tonight. Feel better Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Are you BFing? If so, I'd say you should stay with her so you can give her all the antibodies your system is building up while you're sick. Otherwise, I'd say let her have a nice, fun night with Grammy.

She should stay at grandma's and if you would feel more comfortable, you should too.

Re: Mommies what would you do

I had this last weekend it was horrible-- If I had help I would take it, unfortunately my whole family had the same bug and I dudnt have much choice but to take care of him mostly myself with help here and there from my dh-it was reallly tough, I would have her sleep out esp since its you mom- this is coming from a very protective mom.

Re: Mommies what would you do

Thanks guys. I haven't felt this sick in YEARS. The whole way from work I was just praying to make it home and not have to pull over.

She is at my Mom'sChat Icon Emotionally I am having a really hard time with it since I haven't seen her since 7am. I think my hubby is having a worse time of it. But he doesn't get it.

I just called my Mom's and she should be sleeping for about an hour now and she is up Chat Icon She is in a great mood watching Dancing with Stars Chat Icon and riping up the TV guide, but I am concerned that she isn't sleeping yet since it's new to her.

UGH I need to not worry so much it's making my stomach worse.

Thank you all for the support.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Mommies what would you do

Thanks all she spent the night at moms. She is a little confused today when my DH picked her up. But I know my Mom had a great time with her. Though she did call me when they were on their way home to say she knows why are you supposed to have children when you are younger and that she is going to take a nap Chat Icon

I am still a little out of it. My stomach is still not great but I am not vomitting anymore. Hey but if it helped with the pouch maybe that will be a positive Chat Icon Chat Icon Though my Mom was originally convinced that I was probably pregnant and that's why I was vomiting Chat Icon Chat Icon I guess she is ready for a second grandchild.

Thank you all for the support. I had to close the door to her room because everytime I looked at her crib last night I cried. But that was a big step for us.

Re: Mommies what would you do

You did the right thing for your baby. I had something like this last year and I had to call my best friend and tell her "I can't take care of Molly please come over"...I was SOOOO sick. But not getting Molly sick was also important.

I hope you feel much better very soon.
