Mommies having # 2 or more.....
Are you buying a gift for your older DC fromt he baby? and vice versa?
DD already bought some little toys for DS when he is born and I am thinking it would be a smart idea to get something for her, to give her at the hospital when she comes to meet him, that is from him.
What, if anything is you new one giving to their big bro or sis??

Re: Mommies having # 2 or more.....
DS's bday is right around DS#2's due date. I was planning to save some bday presents to give DS#1 until after DS#2 is born.
He'll only be getting his bday presents from his party before the new baby is born.
eta: if his bday wasn't right when the baby was due, I would probably have gotten DS some new toy gifts to distract him so he wouldn't be as jealous?

We did when DD was born...My DS got her a baby toy and DS got (from her) this silly thing he wanted from one of those mall toy kiosks ...It wasn't anything sentimental, but he still remembers where the toy came from
I will do the same this time around and get a little something to and from my DC's and the new baby

Yes...although I haven't thought about what it will be yet. Probably a "big brother" t-shirt and a new toy.

We saved some of DS's Christmas gifts to give to him when the new baby is born so he'll have something new to occupy him.

I had a big giftbag full of toys for Jack at the hospital. My friends also brought him a ton of toys. It was like Christmas morning all over again for him

DS is only going to be about 13.5 months old so he isn't going to "get" that it is from the new baby but I do think we will buy him a new toy when the baby arrives. It's more so he has something new (other than the baby!) to distract him!

We did....
It was something small, but something we knew she would love. We put it in the baby's bassinet in the hospital when DD came to visit and told her the baby wanted to give her a present.

This such a precious idea! I only planned on having DS wear a big brother t shirt. But your idea is adorable. I might have to use it. I have to check if he could go to the hospital first.

Re: Mommies having # 2 or more.....
Both my sons have picked out a stuffed animal to give the baby when the baby is born to put in the hospital bassinet. Which reminds me I have to pull them out in case...I have yet to buy a gift for the boys from the baby - but I think Ido have some spare toys in my secret stash just in case...being I could go any day now.
When my 2nd some was born - I did both gift from big brother to little brother and the reverse. My son was 2.5 at the time and still remembers what he got and what he gave his brother (he is 6 now!).

Re: Mommies having # 2 or more.....
I plan to have something for him @ the hospital - a little something like a new train, and probably a big brother Tshirt - .....My kid is FAR from neglected and gets 'presents' way too often IMO
and my family would never bring gifts for the new baby and not a 2 year old (my ILs are another story, the newborn will be lucky to get a gift - so I"m not expecting them to acknowledge Sean)
