Mommies have you ever.......

My cousin was over today. She is a pediatric cancer nurse and I was feeding my daughter and she asked me if she always finishes her jar food and I said almost always she said if she doesn't do you? I said do I what? She was saying that she sees Moms in the hospital finish their child's jar food when they don't finish it.

I know that I have NO desire to eat her baby food (though I did try her puffs and they were good) but the baby food has NO appeal to me what so ever. She said she sees this all the time.

So my question is have you ever finished your child's jar food?

I actually know some people that don't even have kids and buy baby food for themselves! I have no desire to eat baby food though.

I used to buy banana baby food when I was younger. I loved it!!

Ive tried some puffs as well..the strawberry banana ones are ood

I have heard people rave about baby food but I'm with you. I have ZERO desire for pureed food to touch my lips. Just like I never plan to taste my breastmilk.....EWWWW.

I've tried it to see if it was too hot but would never finish a jar. I think a good policy to have is to never eat off of your child's plate. It packs on pounds very easily.

I've tasted everything that has gone into Aidans mouth, but I wouldn't finish the jar to finish it. I would probably if it was those yummy desserts but I've never given him any jarred baby food desserts (too much sugar).

And that includes breast milk, the thought to taste it would have never really crossed my mind but one day my SIL (who has BF all 4 children) asked if I had and that it tasted like "cantalope juice" ...very sweet. So I did, and it was!

I have finished the jar -- I don't eat nearly enough fruits and veggies, and its an easy way to get some in.

Never, not even the fruit. It holds no appeal to me whatsoever. ALthough one time when I was buying baby food, an older woman was there buying jars of bananas and told me she buys them for her kids who are 28 and 30. Good God! Grow up!

I'm with Donna - I've tasted everything that goes into Jake's mouth. With a few exceptions - Mylecon, Tylenol, and breast milk... I was going to try it, really I was - but alas, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

But I have never finished off his baby food jars. I just taste it so I know what he's tasting and I guess just in case something doesn't taste right and it could be bad/spoiled. I also smell everything too.

And can I just say, formula is GROSS. I have no idea how our babies drink that stuff!

some of the fruit is good. I wouldnt eat the whole jar unless i was starving and there wasnt anything else around.
Some people eat anything when they are nervous or stressed, and since the baby food is there; and it seems it could be a stressfull environement- maybe thats why they eat it?

I don't eat James' food...but I always try it.

I did however suggest to my mother that we buy my grandmother some baby food when she was ill...she enjoyed it. something with flavor that she was able to swallow.

I always finish Julias food when she doesnt eat it all, I love baby food.

Not a mommy yet, but I do buy the puffs to snack on, they are yummy!!!!

I must admit I absolutely love the bananas and peaches. I used to buy them even before I was pg.

I am not sure if i would finish the jar, who I am kidding, if it's peaches or bananas, I prob would.

I would never try breastmilk, formula or the cereal or meats, they smell yicky to me.

can't get myself to try the formula or breatmilk - but I did taste the rice cereal the first time I gave it to her - it's sooo gross...tastes like cardboard...bad cardboard!!
