Re: Mohonk Mountain House..
We went in June! It was amazing, and very relaxing. It included all food (and afternoon tea and cookies), and it was great service--they truly anticipated your needs before you had to ask! The setting is beautiful, and we had a great time hiking and swimming in the indoor pool. I went for an AMAZING spa treatment. The rooms vary--we got a large one, but there were smaller ones too.
We had our 1 year old with us, and they were great with him--he threw food all over, but they cleaned it up with a smile. They also had great food for kids at every meal.
Note that there are no tvs in the room unless you rent them!
I will say that it rained while we were there, and that made it less worth it.
It was expensive, but we wanted something within driving distance. And it can't be beat; it is hands down the nicest resort within a few hours drive! I have tons of pics if you want to see.

We also went in June. I don't know if it's "worth it". It's not a luxury hotel, but we really enjoyed it and said we'd go again.
I read alot of mixed reviews before going and almost backed out. The food is included, but is not gourmet like you would expect for the $. I did really like the breakfast though.
The mountain is beautiful, breathtaking views, etc. Not sure what other outdoor activities there would be this time of year, but when we were there, there were a ton of outdoor things to do.
