Modified CIO and feeding throughout the night question
I have been avoiding feeding Colin during the night b/c he is having a procedure next wk and needs to fast - so I want him to get used to skipping the 3AM feeding.
So, the first few nights I did a little CIO (over a wk ago). He cried, whined, played, fussed for about a half hr each time and then went back now.
I got him to the point that now I don't feed him until earliest 5AM.
He does still get up 1-3x and we put the paci back and and he goes back to sleep.
He does know how to grab, hold and put in his own binky - but he doesn't in the middle of the night (and I leave 3 in there so he has them surrounding him).
Should I continue to go in and give him the paci? How long do I continue this for and how do I get him to just stop waking!
And, should I make my cut off time later?? As in should I tell myself I can't feed him until say earliest 6AM?
Example of last night. He went from 8:30am-4:30AM and then got up fussing. That's a nice stretch, but not quite there. DH put the paci and but a half hour later he was fussing again. At that point I went in and nursed him. He went right back to sleep until 7:30AM.

Re: Modified CIO and feeding throughout the night question
I can't really answer the paci question since both of my boys really want no part of it. I would assume that if you didn't go in and pop the paci back in he would start to really cry?
As for the waking and feeding time. I give myself 5am for Tyler (did the same thing for Jack) Once 5 o'clock hits I will get up and feed him. I usually bring him into bed with me, give him a bottle, and then get tortured by him for an hour until he's ready to go back in the crib. I think tomorrow I'm going to stay in his room, feed him there, and put him right back in. Hopefully that will work.

As you know, I had been constantly middle of the night co-sleeping. The last week, I am making an effort to feed him in his room and put him back in his crib - this way I can actually get up and do what I need to do for myself in the morning and I can gauge how long he sleeps without being disturbed by my needing to get up.
The other night I sat in his glider after giving him the binky b/c I didn't think he'd go back down, and I ended up sleeping there from 3:30-5AM
