mixing woods

When DS was a baby, I didn't think he'd need so much space for cloths and I figured that if he did, we would just buy another piece to his set.


well - it's discontinued

I went to BBB and BRU to see if anything slightly matches the wood tone/grain. Nada.

What do I do? My mom offered my sister's old chiffrobe that is painted, so we would have to paint it - what color?

or do we get another piece that's a different color? what color/tone would look OK? We are planning on moving within the year, so he could easily have a different room color.

any ideas?

We just took an old bookshelf and night table from my parents and painted them to match his room.

We painted them red, which matches the color scheme in his room and they look great! Id rather have a painted piece that purposely looks like its not supposed to be matchy matchy as opposed to a piece that looks like you were trying to match, but didnt.

The one you posted looks like it matches great - I don't think you will have any problem finding something that is the same shade it's pretty common...
