mixing dining chairs/styles
I'd like to add 2 head chairs to our existing dining room table. should the head chairs be the same height as the side chairs or can they be taller? if anyone has pix, please post. thank you so much!

they can either be same height or bigger, imo
it would only look a little weird, to me at least, if they were smaller

no, def not smaller! i just wasn't sure if like 2 inches taller would look funny.

i mixed...sometimes i love it and sometimes i feel lke i should kept all the chairs the same  my end chairs are taller but not as wide...i have pics in my house progress album HTH

They can definitely be taller, I'd just make sure they aren't too big comapred to your existing chairs.
The proportion in this DR looks nice
but this DR looks a lil off to me b/c the chairs seem TOO big IMO

wow, i really like your dining/living room area!
is that an ikea table? that's the one we're getting but wanted to use black wooden chairs on the side and head chairs be the plain leather black ones (like the ones you have on the sides)

mine are ALL mixed up, and i've gotten many compliments.
we have a long espresso table with an espresso bench on one side. on the other side we have cream wooden chairs with a distressed finish that match the china hutch on the other side of the room. the 2 heads of the table are upholstered chairs with espresso wood legs and cream fabric.
if i can muster a pic i'll add it.
