Mixing breast milk and formula
I just increased dd daycare bottles so the frozen milk isn't packed in correct intervals (they are in 4oz packs and she's taking 5).
I can either mix each with one ounce if formula or defrost additional bags. Is there any reason to do one over the other? I'm also not sure how much longer I'm going to be pumping for bc my supply seems low...so is it beneficial to mix now and have my stash last longer?
Anyone mix bm and formula?

I am not sure you are supposed to it- I think I remember reading that it alters the benefits of the breast milk. But not 100% sure of that. I always did a couple feelings of bm and then the rest of formula so it didn't mix in a feeding

I'd just give bm first then formula.if you mix and your dc doesn't finish it, you have to throw it away. If it was just bm you can tell the day care to put it back in the fridge.

I mixed my BM with formula to extend how long I could give DD BM. She always finished the bottle, so I never had issues with having to throw it out. It also helped her transition to total formula.

I used to mix occasional as my supply dwindled. I figured mixing the two was better than no BM at all. DD never had any GI issues from it. I don't know if you are really supposed to mix it though.

I mix everyday. I have no choice... I am not producing enough milk. All the benefits of the milk will still be in the milk when you mix.

Same. My DD always finished.
My LC said it would not alter the benefits...and it's also better to give a little BM per day for a longer period of time, over giving full BM then transitioning to full formula earlier.
