Mini IVF or regular IVF?
Mini IVF:
Cost: $3500+500 for optional anesthesia # of eggs: goal is to get 1-4 eggs Method: Letrozole to start the cycle, then low-dose stims to help get more eggs committed Success: Dr. said it basically takes 4 mini cycles to have the same success as 1 regular cycle Frosties: Typically have none to freeze
Less cost, less $ on meds, less stress on the body
Note* Does NOT improve egg quality
Regular IVF:
Cost: $9250+$500 anesthesia # of eggs: goal is to get as many as safely possible (last fresh IVF I had more than 15) Method: Higher doses of gonal-f (but not TOO high because I respond very strongly and quickly to pretty low doses) Success: Our last one wasn't successful fresh, but we did have success with one of the frozen cycles we did Frosties: Typically will have some to freeze, with our last fresh we had many to freeze
Higher cost, more meds, more stress on body, much greater success rates, possibility of having frozen embryos
WWYD?
Unexplained IF. Got pregnant with DC#1 from frozen cycle. Since having DC, have done FET and IUI with chemical pregnancy and failed cycle. All treatments are OOP. Getting money for a regular cycle would be a bit of a struggle (but not so much that any necessities or small luxuries would be given up - more like it would deplete our regular- not dow payment for a house- savings or max out a CC).

Re: Mini IVF or regular IVF?
I'd go with regular. If you needed all 4 tries of the mini Ivf it would cost more than the regular. It just seems like more of a sure thing.

I agree. I think a regular IVF is the way to go.
