Milk Protein Allergy Mom's come in!!
My DS was diagnosed with the allergy at 3 months (blood in the stool was the only symptom). I slowly added some dairy back into my diet and he seems fine. I have decided he will not be getting any cows milk for a variety of reasons. I am only planning on BF'ing another few months. What do you give your LO's once you are done BF'ing? I don't want to give him any formula either. Is that even possible? What options would I have?

How old is the baby? If you plan on stopping to BF before he turns a year old then I would give him some type of formula unless he is like 10-11 months, by then he should be eating enough solids that you can supplement with milk. I would ask the ped about what other types of milk you can give him, my DS had a milk protein allergy and he has done great with organic cow's milk. I know some moms who give rice milk, almond milk, coconut milk.

He is 8 months now and I was planning on giving up BF around 10-11 months. I could go to a year too, I was just going to stop when we started TTC again.
