MIL Rave!
I just received the best birthday card from my MIL (and FIL, but I know she picked it out and wrote it so I give her a lot of credit)-thanking me for being such a wonderful part of their family, for coming into DHs life and for being the mother of their grandchild. It was so sweet. She also included $100 and told me to spend it on myself because I deserve it-I don't know how accurate she is, but it was such a nice gesture. I am very fortunate.

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to tuck this card away and save it so that years from now I can pull it out and remind myself to do something as nice for my children and their spouses.
