MIL Gifts
Did anyone get any gifts from their mother in law for just being pregnant. I know a lot of my friends got gifts from their MILs. My mom bought me most of my maternity clothes and my friends got me books and magazines. MIL hasn't contributed though.

i got nada from MIL. we .. hate each other. =D i don't expect anything from her regardless of how we feel for each other anyway. my mom hasn't gotten me anything also. but she's def cooked a lot of food for me. it came in handy during my first tri especially. i did get gifts from a couple of friends. that's about it.

the only thing i got from MIL is a headache. With my 1st pregnancy she actually left the hospital to go to work the morning I was in labor...mind you I was only 25 wks PG...and DH really could have used some sort of support from his own family. Luckily my BIL was there for DH. I have learned not to expect anything from her, even when she agrees to do something, because she always manages to make it all about her.

My MIL buys me maternity clothes, maternity books, new bras, baby clothes and toys.....i guess I am spoiled????
seriously though, she buys more than my own mom

My MIL bought me a maternity outfit for my birthday, nothing specifically just for the pregnancy, then again she is Jewish and is superstitous about such things.
She has always been very generous inviting us over for dinner, watching the house when contractors were here, came over when I was sick, etc. So no complaints from me.

When I first found out I was pregnant? No.
But for Christmas both my mom and MIL AND SMIL bought the baby stuff, oh and my SIL too.
Needless to say, I need to start working on that kid's room ASAP!

I didn't get anything just because I was pregnant (maybe a couple of cards from friends)...didn't even enter my mind. This time...nothing from anybody; second time around just not the same 
On my birthday and Mother's Day I received maternity clothes from MIL.

Not while I was pregnant, probably because she lives in another country, but on the day I delivered, she gave me the most beautiful pink pearl necklace in honor of the delivery of my daughter, and she stayed with us for 3 weeks after and cooked and cleaned for me everyday. I wish she lived closer

My MIL buys me everything! She bought all the nursery furniture and for Xmas she got me comfy slippers, heating/cold packs for my back, some keepsake items and some stuff for the baby. My mom passed away in July, so I am glad that I have her.

Not specifically for being pregnant, but MIL and FIL have been SO generous- they bought the nursery furniture, travel system, monitor, pack and play, and lots of other necessities. They are OOT so we regularly get boxes of baby goodies.
