Re: Might be a dumb question

Re: Might be a dumb question

DH will put it in about a week or so the baby is due. It goes in the middle of the back seat.

Re: Might be a dumb question

The safest is in the middle. The 2nd safest is behind the passenger's side.

Re: Might be a dumb question

It should go in the middle, that's the safest spot on the row of seat[s]. In my car, it will be in the middle. In DH's car, it will go behind the passenger seat [he has a 2-door car] so that he can climb in and put the baby in AND so our 6 year old can buckle up! This is also why I will usually have the baby in my car.

1 year old *and* 20 lbs. but it's safest to keep them rear facing even longer if possible.

Also, to answer the original question, our carseat is in the middle in my car and behind the passenger side in DH's car--frankly that's much easier. Now with #2 on the way, we'll have to have one in each position anyway.

Re: Might be a dumb question

We put it on the passenger side because the middle seat in our car doesn't have latch.

One year AND 20 lbs, but as another poster said it is better to keep them rear facing as long as possible.

Re: Might be a dumb question

We had the infant seat in the middle, and now her carseat behind the passenger.

Some cars don't have latch or a lap/shoulder belt combo that you don't have to put together yourself in the middle, so be sure to look at your manual.

ETA: My cars the middle had a little hump, and the seat didnt' sit right and moved too much, we had to put it on the passenger side. Def get it checked!
