We are looking for a third car and want to lease. We have never leased before so kinda clueless.

Can you please share your car and lease terms--length, monthly and down payments (if any). My top 3 choices, just going on aesthetics alone (haven't really looked into much yet), are the Explorer XLT, Acadia, and Grand Cherokee so if you drive any of those, that'd be even more helpful.

Thanks so much! Chat Icon

We didn't lease but we bought the Volvo XC90 last week. We like it a lot so far.

I lease a Cherokee limited so smaller than the grand Cherokee.

With any lease you NEVER put money down except for taxes and fees.

For a grand Cherokee you will be over 400 per month depending on options

We have the Explorer XLT, with backseat entertainment unit. We did NOT put any money down bc its a least, just tax/title/license and we pay just about $500/mo for it (39 mos)

Its my favorite car I have ever owned, very much drives like a truck though so it took some getting used to.

We always lease. Right now I'm in an Acadia Denali 2015 and dh is in a Lexus RX 2015. Both are about $600 a month give or take. We also know the GMC dealership owner and we are on our 7th Lexus so that worked in our favor with pricing.

We never put a dollar down except taxes and fees.

The Acadia has three diff models so you have to compare apples to apples. SLE, SLT and Denali.

Thank you. I actually went and test drove one after posting this. I have several colleagues who have an Explorer and they all love it.

Thank you. The closest dealership to me is the one in Smithtown so I am going to try and go this week to test drive. I also have coworkers that love their Acadia. Not sure of their models.

Re: Mid-Size SUV

Right now I'm in a Chevy Equinox and I love it. My DH works for GM, so I wont bother telling you what we pay because he gets employee pricing. But our next car will be the Acadia or the Traverse. They're exactly the same size with basically the same features with the same engine, but the Acadia has a boxier body style than the Traverse. All personal preference, but we have several friends who drive the Acadia and absolutely LOVE it.

2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. 39mos with 12k a year. I put 0 down and I pay $475.

It's a little high bc I came off a 2014 jeep and was paying $450. I only had 10k miles on that and I was going to go over. So I turned it in 6mos early, which is why my new payment is sort of higher.

Also I've leased like 5 grand cherokees in a row so I get a loyalty discount. I know with jeep I always go to 2-3 and put them against each other.

DH just got the Explorer Sport. It's a 39 mos lease with 12k a year and he pays a little less than $500 a month. That was with a $1000 down.

Re: Mid-Size SUV

I went to GMC and test drove the Acadia SLT. It was a nice drive but honestly, I don't really like the new body as much as the old one. Then I saw the Terrain in the showroom and I LOVE it. It is obviously smaller than the Acadia but I don't really need all the space of the Acadia (we have a 2 y/o now and are TTC for #2)...and I like the body better. There is also great cargo space even though it's smaller. I test drove the Terrain Denali and that's the car I want. But I really hate haggling prices and don't want to drive out to Riverhead to pit the dealerships against each other but I know I can't just go with the first price I'm given. Ugh, the struggles of car buying Chat Icon

Thanks again for all of your responses.
