Is it safe to use one when you are pregnant?

TIA

DH insists that I evacuate the room when one is running Chat Icon, but I think you're fine if you don't stand right near it when it's running.

I haven't heard anything bad about microwave ovens, but it wouldn't hurt to step away.

Re: Microwaves

I haven't heard they aren't safe, but everytime I use it there is a part of me that thinks "Hummm should I be standing in front of this thing???"

Re: Microwaves

Having read up on the subject . . . the consensus is that so long as the seal is working the microwave is safe for a PG woman to be around.

ETA: If the seal is damaged - don't stand in front of it while it's on.

YES!

It is WAY worse for your baby for you to overanalyze every tiny step that you make than to use a microwave, get a pedicure or drink diet soda.

I did SO many things that were considered no no's while I was pregnant, and you'll find things change from doctor to doctor as well. Unless you are drinking everyday or using drugs, you should be fine.

Just relax and enjoy your pregnancyChat Icon
