microsoft word ?
Does anyone know how I can convert a Word file to PDF or JPG? I have found some free converters online, but they don't preserve the font. Anyone know?

is a great, free tool to create PDFs. I've been using it for over a year. It's actually more accurate than Adobe Acrobat (which costs several hundred dollars). We have both at work, and Acrobat will drop off some symbols on engineering drawings, but the free tool doesn't.... 
Once it's installed, anything that you can print from, you can make into a PDF. It just looks like a printer.

aww you're so sweet. I really appreciate it but have to be converting files on a regular basis so I would become real annoying real quick.  thanks so much for the offer!

Yeah, it's safe. We've been using it at work for over a year, maybe two. I have it at home, too.
