Metformin-OMG WARNING: Update
Just wanted to give you a little warning to really research and decide if it's right for you. I was very hopeful in the beginning about the use of Metformin, but then this morning OH MY GOD. I got extremely sick, threw up. THen I had a hot flash and tried to cool off in the shower, but I collapsed. I think I fainted. When I came to I tried to get out and get to the bed, but on my way to the bed I fell, I think I fainted again and hit my head. I fell so hard my DH woke up and freaked out. He had to carry me to the bed. I'm okay now, just a little nausea, but it was pretty scary. I called RE, he told me to stop using it ASAP, I'm going in to get checked in the morning.
Update: Went to the doctor this morning. He said to stop taking it immediately and forget about it. He said that the fainting spells could be from all of the anxiety that comes with all of this. Thank god I only got some black and blues on my knee and a bump on my head. Last time I fell I hit my head so hard it was bleeding for a very long time. Anyways back to this, he said that nausea, sometimes vomiting and intense diarrhea are very common, but if the side effects are this harsh then it's not worth taking it. Not everyone can handle it. He did consider for a while ovary hyperstimulation, but we checked everything today and I was fine. So thank you for all of your wishes, just thought I'd throw that caution out there. And lots of luck to all of you!!!

Re: Metformin-OMG WARNING
That is so scary!!! Thank god you are ok. Did your doctor say why you could have reacted to it this way? I wonder if it is because your blood sugar levels dropped?

Re: Metformin-OMG WARNING
Thank you very much. The doc said it might be from ovary overstimulation, but we'll know more tomorrow.

Re: Metformin-OMG WARNING: Update
P.S. The ONLY good thing for ME from this was that I lost 4 lbs in a couple of days.

Re: Metformin-OMG WARNING: Update
I know the feeling. I was convinced that one more day on the stuff and I was going to have to start wearing Depends.
It really did level off and my stomach finally got used to it, but so sorry that you had such a bad experience.
