Metformin--did it regulate your cycle?

For those of you with PCOS--

Did metformin regulate your cycle and cause you to o? How many months did it take?

I am one of the odd women with pcos and a regular cycle. I had no ovulation but af came every 28-29 days. I started Met and O'd on my third cycle. I am on my fourth and am keeping my fingers crossed that I will O again this month. My MFM told me it takes 3 months for the Met to work and my gyn said up to 6months for full effects . So far my MFM has been right. Hope this helps.

I am another oddball PCOS person. I ovulate every month, but my cycles vary. I'm on Metformin, but honestly I don't really know that I have PCOS, I think I have a luteal phase defect. I'm sure this didn't help, but just wanted to give you a response!

Somehow my cycle regulated on its own. I went off the pill in July and in Oct I started getting it regularly (once a month, but different lengths anywhere from 28-36 days). However, I still didn't ovulate until I was put on Glucophage (metformin). I ovulated the 1st month and got a BFP!

Regular cycle??? I have no idea what that is, HAHA.

I don't think Met did much for me, besides make me not feel good, so I wasn't very good about taking it

I just think the Clomid is what got me going.
