met with RE.... what to do?

I saw an RE for the first time yesterday
and I go back next Monday for an exam, sono, and blood work. He wants to talk to my hematologist because He us not certain that my blood clot issue is causing my miscarriages. i'm frustrated and don't know what to do since my normal obgyn and hemstogist both agree that I can try and if get pregnant I'll be on lovenox. I'm ovulating this week and was looking forward to trying this month. Do I listen to this re ( first time i saw him) and see if something else is my issue. Or do I listen to obgyn/hematologist?
I want to do whatever it takes to
Maintain a pregnancy. Chat Icon but am so confused and don't know what to do.

My hematologist seemed pretty certain and said that the second I get a positive pregnancy test I will be on lovenox, my ob/gyn agreed.

what would you girls do?

I think it makes sense for the RE to want to do his own workup in addition to what the hemo already did. Your ob and hemo agree that you should be on Lovenox, but it seems like the RE wants to investigate further, which I dont think is a bad thing.

I know it's really frustrating and you just want to get the show on the road, but it is good that he wants to get to the bottom of it and get you treated before you start trying again. The RE's job is to get you and keep you pregnant. OBs and hemos know about those issues peripherally, but don't know as much as an RE. I would listen to him. Of course, if your gut is telling you something else, I'd get a 2nd opinion.

Why did the RE say that he's not certain this is the reason for your mcs?Chat Icon

Did the RE ask you not to try this month? If so, I'd listen to him and wait. It's much better to wait the extra month, hopefully get some answers, and maintain a healthy pregnancy than to risk another MC just because you were being impatient. Trust me, we all want to hurry up and have babies...but a healthy pregnancy is what you need to focus on right now. Plus, December is a great month to take a break! Drink some extra wine at all the holiday parties and don't worry about what you can and can't eat!

He said that although I test positive for antiphospholipid syndrom - some of the phospholipids I am normal and that those are what are known to be a factor --- and wants me to get the phospholipid tests done again at the end of the year.

I am just confused by the difference in opinion.

I will wait as long as need to be able to maintain a pregnancy just feels like when I get an answer from one doc, I go two steps back from another.

Re: met with RE.... what to do?

While the clotting issues may or may not be the reason for the MC you will still most likely be on lovenox for your pregnancy. This is normal for anyone with clotting issues. I am on it and will be for any future pregnancy due to clotting issues that had nothing to do with getting and staying pregnant.
